Song for mid-week overwhelm

by Katrina on January 25, 2012

Ze Frank wrote this song for a fan who was swamped with anxiety and needed a song to help her calm down. It’s the perfect thing to listen to if you’re feeling overwhelmed. I found it through Monkey Mind Chronicles, but you can read the full story behind the song on Ze Frank’s site.

Any other calm-me-down song recommendations?

Just listened to it, and my blood pressure went down 10 points. I bet we could come up with a great “everything’s going to be just fine” playlist…

My kids haven’t quite come up with this sort of soothing mantra, but it reminds me of the time my 5YO DD said: “if you would just stop thinking about X-Y-Z, you’d feel a whole lot better.”

“Hummingbird” by Horse Stories.

We all fake
Our own ways to be strong
And we all take
Years to get it wrong
But I won’t hold you back

Dancing in the Moonlight – King Harvest. “You can’t dance and stay uptight…”

I really love Rainbow Connection sung by Kermit. Makes me smile and breathe.
Air does one of my favorite all time chill out songs: All I Need. “All I need is a little time to get behind the sun and cast my weight. All I need is a piece of this mind and I can celebrate.”
This is the song that I want playing when I give birth to my child :).
Also, a good instrumental chill out song is La Femme D’Argent by Air.
